Anthony Richards
Singer and Entertainer
A native of Belize, Anthony started singing at the age of ten and went on to win Voice of Belize, 2 yrs consecutively. He later formed a singing group “The Crystals” which included Elihue Flowers, Earl Waite & Dennis Lennan, which became the country’s # 1 singing group of 1960's.
He later joined “The Harmonetts” . He also performed with International bands such as Byron Lee, Sunny Bradshaw, Tomorrow’s children & The Mighty Sparrow.
In 1968 he recorded the song “Sweet Belizean Girl”, which is still a classic amongst Belizeans.
Anthony migrated to N.Y. City, where he joined the “Web Band” with Jeff & Gene Adolphus, Harrington Trap, Earlind Henderson and Ivan Domingo.
In 1986 teamed up with Caye Records producer Raymond Barrow
(Unity Productions) and released an EP title 'TRY SMILLING'
1997 was a historical year for Anthony when he performed at the “Apollo Theatre” in New York City.
In 1999 Anthony moved to Houston TX; a few years later in 2005 he entered the talent show “Give Me The Mike Houston” which was broadcast on live TV and was second runner up.
Anthony is still actively performing and awaits his next singing engagement.
